Vikas High School & Junior College

Established in 1969, Vikas High School, Vikhroli and in 1981 Vikas High School and Junior College, Vikhroli has been stead fastly dedicated to the cause of education and social development for over five decades. Founded under the visionary leadership of the late Hon. Shri P. M. Raut Sir, with the support of former MLA Late Dr. W. S. Matkar and eminent labour leader and former Member of Parliament Late Dr. Datta Samant, the institution was conceived with the objective of making quality education accessible to all sections of society.

What began as a modest educational initiative has today evolved into a well-established institution, playing a significant role in extending educational opportunities to the grassroots level. The management has consistently remained focused on the academic growth and welfare of students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, a commitment that continues to define the institution’s ethos and identity.

Currently, Vikas High School (Marathi Medium) and its Junior College (English Medium) cater to approximately 1,650 students. While maintaining the strong foundation of Marathi medium education, the institution has proactively responded to changing educational needs by introducing Semi-English instruction, thereby ensuring academic relevance without compromising linguistic and cultural values.

The Junior College offers a wide range of academic streams including Arts, Commerce, Science, Information Technology, and allied disciplines. In alignment with the objectives of the New Education Policy, the institution places strong emphasis on the effective implementation of student-centric programmes, innovative teaching methodologies, advance technology based teaching-learning material and curriculum-based initiatives, aimed at fostering holistic development and academic excellence.
